Cochlear Nucleus 8 Aqua+ Combined Link 5(i) Coil for use with Aqua+ sleeves (purchased separately as is the required magnet).

The Cochlear Nucleus 8 Aqua+ Combined Link 5(i) Coil (with integrated coil cable) is used in place of your usual Nucleus 8 Slimline Coil while your sound processor is inside the Aqua+ sleeve. The Nucleus 8 Aqua+ Coil features a special plug that creates a seal when connected to your sound processor’s coil socket through the coil plug hole in the Aqua+.

As with your usual coil, a coil magnet screws into the Aqua+ coil and holds it against your implant. The magnet strength and placement when used with Aqua+ should be the same as your standard coil.

Which coil for which processor?
The split link coil is for the Nexa range.
The combined coil is for the Nucleus N8 (non-Nexa)
The combined coil 5i is for users of the N8 who are requiring a 5i magnet strength.

PLEASE NOTE that the magnet needs to be ordered separately.

Please note: the blue Aqua+ coil should only be used with the Aqua+ to avoid potential cracking of the sound processor case.

When connecting the coil cable, always push the plug straight in; do not screw or twist the plug.

The Nucleus 8 Sound Processor with the Aqua+ is water protected to level IP68 of the International Standard IEC60529. This water protection only applies when you use the Aqua+ sleeve, Aqua+ Coil and rechargeable batteries. Not approved for use with the acoustic component (hybrid processors).

Also as a medical devices product it can only be accepted for credit, within the 14 day Consumer Rights Directive (CRD) period, if the seal is intact/it is unopened. When you receive the product you are able to determine you have the correct product without opening the packaging - please contact us should you have any doubts before the seal is broken.
