Oticon FM10 & AP1000 hearing aid battery drawers

To fit an Oticon FM10 or AP1000 direct audio input shoe to your Oticon hearing aid it is necessary to change the hearing aid battery drawer. Changing the battery drawer is not difficult but you do need the appropriate Oticon tool and some components are small and you do need good dexterity. Videos are available to show you how it is done.

Each Oticon hearing aid model range requires a different shape/type of battery drawer and there is a choice of colours to match your hearing aid.

Types of Oticon batery drawers Here we show the general difference between a standard battery drawer and a standard tamperproof TAR battery drawer which has a 'pokey hole' which requires a special tool to open. The FM/DAI battery drawer adaptor version, for use with a direct audio input shoe, looks quite different. To make these drawers tamperproof for paediatric use, so that batteries are kept safe, a 3O166313 TAR colour lock set with blue tool is required. The blue tool is used to open the drawer.

Standard TAR battery drawers (not for use with direct audio input shoes) are available here.

Changing a hearing aid battery drawer requires average DIY skills and good dexterity due to the small components. Please read the Oticon instructions and watch their training video before fitting.
