Amplicomms PowerTel M7000 GSM mobile phone

An easy to use, very loud highly amplified mobile phone which makes dialling and messaging very simple thanks to enlarged buttons and characters, while offering plenty of functionality with vibrating ringer, Bluetooth, handsfree speakerphone and a large phonebook. This phone has a very loud listening volume (the manufacturer specifies 40dB) and an especially loud ring.It also features talking Caller ID for up to 10 numbers, a Talking keypad and a torch.

The PowerTel M7000 is a good sized mobile phone, with a practical clam shell design, great for making and receiving calls and text messages. Dialling is easy thanks to a large and clear keypad with a bright backlight and a phonebook for 500 names and numbers. The M7000 also has a loud speakerphone, direct dial memory buttons and a very loud earpiece volume and call ringer. A desktop charging cradle is also supplied.

The large display is full colour making it clear and easy to read. Call volume is adjusted by volume buttons and a "boost" button on the side of the phone. The PowerTel M7000 has a good loud volume and a very loud ringer (max. 100dB), great for hard of hearing people and non-hearing aid users. This is the only mobile phone in our range with tone control.

In the opinion of our evaluation panel, the Amplicom M7000 is a really good phone, with a more comprehensive range of features than most in our range. It is in our opinion acoustically the loudest phone available, with a good tone control so it would be our recommended choice for non-hearing aid wearers. 

There is also a 3.5mm headset socket.

The PowerTel M7000 has a Hearing Aid Compatibility rating of T4/M4 - the highest possible (see the User Guides tab for more information about this). This means there is still an element of interference with hearing aids. Some hearing aid users will find the level of background noise acceptable when using the phone directly with 'T' with their hearing aid - those who find the background noise unsatisfactory can use an inductive earhook. We are unable to give guidance; it is simply a matter of trial and personal preference. 

Hearing aid users (with a telecoil facility) have two alternative ways of using the M7000 with their hearing aid:

• Directly from the telephone handset using 'T'
• Indirectly using a Bluetooth inductive hands-free device(for those who find an unsatisfactory level of inductive noise when used directly)

Please note, our 'T-Link' inductive earhook will not work with this phone.

The Amplicom PowerTel M7000 also has an emergency SOS button on the back. To make an emergency call, slide down the key on the back - this will cause the phone to send your pre-programmed SOS emergency SMS text message and a personally recorded voice message to all numbers in the Emergency numbers list (max. 5). It will then dial the first number on the list. If the call isn't answered the next number is dialled. Dialling is repeated until the call is answered. Note - the emergency call function can be turned off.

This phone is supplied unlocked and SIM-Free. You will need to arrange for a SIM card from a mobile phone network operator for use with this phone. (Not compatible with SIM cards on the Three network.)
