Trantec UHF radio microphone systems

Image

We supply the Trantec range of radio microphones to expand the capabilities of a number of audio systems.

A popular add on is a hand held microphone which can be easily passed around for questions. There are also a number of microphone alternatives, to suit individual preferences, which may be used with the standard beltpack e.g. headworn, collarworn etc.

Users of other fm equipment such as fmGenie, Phonak MLx or Soundranger should consider the following information.

Wideband versus narrowband radio equipment.

Wideband UHF (854-865MHz/606-622MHz) radio microphones cannot be 'heard' by narrow band VHF (173-177MHz) radio aid systems, such as fmGenie and fPhonak. This has the advantage that they can be used in the same areas.

A wideband VHF radio system, such as Trantec or Soundranger, can affect approximately 5 narrow band VHF channels the centre narrow band channel plus 2 either side. Our advice is that wideband VHF radio microphones should be introduced with care to a site where narrow band VHF radio aids for deaf people are being used eg  fmGenie & Phonak MLxi.
