This EI 176 (EI176) unit is mains powered with a rechargeable battery backup. The control panel has a strobe and vibrator with the option to add a second vibrator or strobe. An extension strobe has a 10 metre lead so it could be fitted downstairs for day use if wished.

The control unit has an optical smoke head. Additional powered and interlinked smoke alarm heads may be added to cover the whole house. Wiring from the deaf alarm control panel to each detector takes the power to the smoke alarm heads and also links up the system to allow a signal from one detector to set off the complete alarm system. This is the best and simplest method for most new systems. This system can power up to 12 interconnected smoke alarm heads.

The package is straightforward to install, the control panel can be plugged into a 13A socket and the system is certainly suitable for DIY installation. Control panels can be interlinked to provide cover in more than one bedroom.

Only one additional strobe or vibrator can be driven from a control unit, but you can have more than one control unit in a system.

   

Please note that the Ei176 replaces the Ei175 which is now discontinued.

 

If you would like to have an alarm clock connected to this unit we now suggest the Global 360 (40CL360) and a mono 3.5mm connecting lead (MXA117) - both shown in the panel on the right.

If wished the plug can be removed and the unit wired directly into a fused spur. For non EU users the unit can either be directly wired or used with an adaptor.
